Aluminum 6061 vs. 5052
AL 5052 is optimal for sheet metal work because of its ability to allow for a tight radius while bending. Generally, AL 6061 is the best served for machining. If using AL 6061 by sheet metal, it is at risk of breakage. Because it is difficult to deform and is more susceptible to brittle fracture. As a result of this, we suggest our customers using AL 5052 for sheet metal and AL 6061 for CNC machining.
What’s more, AL 6061 is more expensive than than AL 5052 by sheet metal, maybe around as 1.6 times.
